Описание

This is a compact, home‑built soldering fume extractor designed around a 12V DC axial fan, an activated charcoal filter, a barrel‑jack power input, a toggle switch, and a simple power supply—all housed inside a 3D‑printed enclosure.

It’s not a professional-grade filtration system, but it is a practical DIY solution for pulling solder smoke away from your face and adding an extra layer of safety during small electronics projects.

To improve visibility while soldering, the design also includes a square ring light made from four LED strip segments. I’ve included an STL template that lets you stick the strips in place, solder them together, and mount the finished ring directly onto the hood. This makes a huge difference, since the extractor body tends to block overhead lighting due to its size.

All parts were printed using standard matte black PLA for the main housing and white PLA for the hood. Prints were done at 20% infill with a 0.18 mm layer height for a good balance of accuracy and strength.
