Description

Replacement ceiling air register for a standard 12" x 6" duct opening. Overall face is 13-1/4" x 7-1/4" (336.6 x 184.2 mm), the same size as common steel 12x6 sidewall/ceiling registers. Shut off lever broke off my metal original, I love having the AC on, others didn't because they couldn't control their vent and we had no money at the moment. The solution.

Features

- Shutoff: 6-blade rear damper in each half, controlled by a sliding knob in the face (about 10 mm of travel from open to closed) - Direction: 9 front fins per half, tilted individually by hand and held by friction pins - Split into two identical halves so it fits a 256 x 256 mm bed. Print 2 of every file. - Neck is 11-1/2" x 5-1/4" and extends 1.48" (37.5 mm) above the ceiling line. Check that your duct boot has that much clearance. - Screw slots cover 12.40" to 12.80" center-to-center, so you can reuse your existing register screws. Hardware

- 2x M3 x 16 bolts and nuts for the center seam - CA glue or epoxy on the seam walls (recommended for ceiling mounting) Print settings (designed for a 0.8 mm nozzle)

- Fins, blades, cranks, link, knob: 0.24 mm layers - Frame halves and bearing plates: 0.32 mm layers - Wall loops: 4 - Wall generator: Arachne - Top and bottom shell layers: 5 - Sparse infill density: 30% - No supports needed. All parts are pre-oriented. Material: PLA works for AC, but supply air from a furnace can soften it. Use ABS, ASA or PETG if the vent carries heat.

Assembly: see the assembly guide. Build the full damper and fin assembly outside the frame first, then lower it straight down into the frame.

The blade holes print tight on purpose. I had to sand them out a bit before the damper would open and shut smoothly, so test the fit before you assemble, honestly is kind of annoying to assemble but it works.
