Steel profile 45mm end cap/plug

Square Tube Plug 45x45 mm / 41x41 mm Inner Size

This is a remix of the original Square Tube Plugs model, adjusted for a steel square tube with:

- outer size: 45 × 45 mm - inner size: 41 × 41 mm - wall thickness: approx. 2 mm

I needed a plug for a 45 mm square steel profile, so I modified the dimensions to fit this specific tube size. The plug is designed as a simple push-fit end cap to close the open end of the steel tube and make the profile look cleaner and safer.

Use case

Great for closing open ends of square steel profiles used in:

- furniture frames - workshop constructions - racks and stands - bed frames - DIY metal projects

Print settings

Recommended material: PETG (PLA should also work for indoor use.)

Suggested settings:

- layer height: 0.2 mm - perimeters: 2-3-4 - infill: 15–30 % - supports: no - print orientation: flat side on the bed

Depending on your printer calibration and the exact tube tolerance, you may need to slightly scale the model up or down for a tighter or looser fit.

Notes

The model is made for a 45 × 45 mm square tube with approximately 41 × 41 mm inner opening. Steel profiles can vary a bit between manufacturers, so measure your tube before printing.
