Description

This is a very simple design for a fletching jig. It's designed to use minimal materials and for parts to be easily replaceable to be cheap for clubs to mass produce.

Additional materials:

- 6x M3 25mm nuts and bolts

- 2-3 elastic bands

Assembly:

- Choose big arm or mini arm -> print 3

- I advise the mini arm for travelling kits and the big arm for workshops or if you shoot long fletchings

- Choose big base or mini base -> print 1

- I advise the mini base for travelling kits and the big base for workshops as it's more stable

- Choose small clamp or trad clamp -> print 3

- Small clamp fits standard vanes very well, trad clamp has a wider opening to accommodate real fletchings and is longer

- Print 6x nut knob and screw knob

- Print everything and remove supports . I find a flathead screwdriver works best to remove supports in holes / rounded corners

- Assemble nut knobs . Nut knobs are slightly undersized intentionally. Heat the nuts gently then carefully press them into the knobs for a tight fit.

- Assemble screw knobs . Again, these are slightly undersized intentionally. Screw the bolts into the knobs, the recessed side is where the head of the bolt will sit. Just before the bolt is fully seated, add a dab of superglue onto the back of the head then finish tightening.

- Just assemble the rest, it's pretty self explanatory.

Usage:

- Set clamps to appropriate height in the jig arms

- Load arrow shaft into jig

- Insert fletchings into clamps and glue

- Fold arms up and press fletchings into arrow shaft

- Add elastic bands to the top and bottom of the jig to apply uniform pressure to fletchings as they dry
