3D models of self-tapping screws and mounts

This collection gathers STL files built around self-tapping screws: cable holders, brackets, matching nuts and inserts, plus generators for custom threads. It is useful when a printed part has to be fixed to wood, plastic or a car interior with an ordinary screw. Polyzon does not confirm whether models are free, their price, license, official status, affiliation, safety or fitness. Check the current terms at the source.

«3D models of self-tapping screws and mounts»

Most entries fall into two groups. One covers printed parts that accept a screw — cable clips, wall brackets, battery mounts, angles and inserts for furniture. The other covers the screw itself or its counterpart: nuts, threaded holes and parametric generators where you set the diameter and pitch before exporting.

When choosing a model, open the author's page and read the listed dimensions: thread size, hole diameter, wall thickness and the number of separate parts. Look at whether the file expects supports, how the thread is oriented on the build plate, and which material and settings the author used. Photos of real prints show how the thread engages better than a render.

To widen the search, try related wording: screw holder, threaded insert, wall mount, cable clip, nut, bolt, or the size you need. Combining a fastening term with the object it holds — cable, battery, panel, furniture — usually narrows results faster than a single word.

FAQ

Questions fréquentes

Can a 3D printer reproduce a usable screw thread?
Yes, with a coarse pitch and enough clearance between the parts. Fine threads printed in the wrong orientation tend to come out rough, so check the orientation shown on the model page.
Which printed parts work with metal self-tapping screws?
Holders, brackets and inserts are usually designed around a metal screw that cuts into the printed plastic. The page should state the screw diameter and the pilot hole size.
How do I pick the right size for my screw?
Measure the screw diameter and length, then compare them with the dimensions listed by the author. If the hole is too tight, a slightly larger pilot hole is easier to adjust than a printed thread.
What material is used for load-bearing mounts?
Authors often list the filament they used and the wall count. Parts that carry weight benefit from more perimeters, and some designs are meant to be printed in a stronger material than standard PLA.
