This model is the newest iteration of my Pro Acryl Expert Acrylics Paint Rack design, originially on MakerWorld in 2025. This version is an updated take with a few cool features like Gridfinity Compatibility, Skadis Compatibility, and Infinite vertical scaling.

I designed the whole thing to print with 0 supports, with each “rack body” built in one single piece. There are keyed dovetail slots that allow you to pick what type of mounting method you want to use (if any) and press fit them in.

This is a paint rack for holding some of my favorite paints- Pro Acryl Expert Acrylics by Monument Hobbies. These acrylics are heavier bodied than typical miniature paints from other brands, and come in tubes instead of dropper bottles. These tubes require a different storage method if you want them stored “tip up” to avoid any potential of paint clogging or exploding out when you try to use them.

Here's the model print profile breakdown:

- Main “rack bodies” have versions with a bottom plate for Gridfinity or smooth-bottom freestanding. If you ever want these to go on a desktop surface,  use one of these for your bottom section. - “Stacking Bodies” are used to add as many sections as you want on top of eachother. These are also great standalone sections if you just plan on wall hanging your paints, since the bottom isn't needed. - Connectors interface with dovetail slots on the backs of the racks to connect them together when stacking. - Choose an optional “smooth topper” or “skadis hangar” for the very top rack body depending on your needs. - Through holes are built in if you want to mount racks more permanently (use my drilling guide to help align+level)! This model is part of my collection of 3D printed mini painting stuff, Paintfinity.

For all of my models in this collection, P1S and A1MINI sized prebuilt profiles are provided. No supports are used on anything in the collection, and it's been optimized for a 0.4mm nozzle with tuned wall thicknesses throughout.

I use 2 walls, 0.2mm height, 10% grid infill print settings for my included plate profiles. Lower infill percent with Gyroid or Lightning also work, but grid at 10% seems to always give me a great top surface quality for a little extra material+time.

Batch painting workflow with mini painting handles Paintfinity is my solo run passion project with the goal of making miniature painting more accessible, efficient, and ergonomic. I try to design models that work together to solve as many common pain points as possible. I've commission painted full time for the last 10 years, with an emphasis on large projects and armies. I've learned that there are a lot of small things that add up to a much smoother experience with these type of projects. These small optimizations can trickle down to benefit everything else you paint too!

I built my models around the standard 42mm Gridfinity unit with pockets for 6x2mm magnets. I made smooth-bottom NOGRID variants too! Gridfinity is an open source system originally created by Zach Freedman, make sure to check out Zach's other work!

As of May 2026, Paintfinity currently has:

61 Unique Models and 48 Variants for a total of 109 individual modeled objects!
