10mm e-box extender ring for RatRig V-Core4 - for (1225) 120mm x 25mm fans

Simple design to extend the rear enclosure by 10mm so that a new, larger 25mm fan fits inside.

Naturally, it's easier to mount a larger e-box fan on the outside of the panel. So why? In the case of my very large V-Core 400, that extra 25mm made things tight, since the machine is mounted on a workbench against the wall and would reduce rear ventilation space.

Since the original 120x15mm fan failed, and my Z steppers were running hot, this allowed me to keep the fine inside the ebox, and only extend the rear of the unit by 10mm.Since the original 120x15mm fan failed, and my Z steppers were running hot, this allowed me to keep the fine inside the ebox, and only extend the rear of the unit by 10mm.

The extra 10mm also makes the ebox roomier for other things, such adding a 5V buck regulator or separate PSU to power your Pi, USB hub, etc.

Hardware: You will need new M3 screws that are 10mm longer to secure the panel with the extension ring in place.

Optionally, you can insert threaded M3 rod into the ebox corner posts with Loctite. This make reinstalling a bit easier, since the ring and aluminum rear cover a self supported on the threaded rod. Then secure the rear panel with 3mm thumb knobs.

Caveats:

- This is around 350mm in size. If you need this for a VC4-300, you will need another printer large enough to print it. - Since it's so large, shrinkage is a serious consideration. If printing in ABS as I did, it's suggested to print this with Z height re-scaled to 1 or 2mm and then check fit and adjust XY shrink % as needed.
