Ford Maverick FITS Under-Seat Fire Extinguisher Mount

This is a fire extinguisher mount that attaches to the FITS anchors under the rear seat of 2022-2026 Ford Mavericks. It is configurable to work on either the driver or passenger side of the truck, and the extinguisher bottle can be oriented in either direction (pointed in or out).

It is designed for common "5 lb" -style bottles (about 8-10 lbs total weight) with diameters of 4.2-4.8 inches and overall height of about 16". I have verified it to work with First Alert and Amerex bottles in this size, but it will probably also work with Kidde bottles and possibly others.

Since the FITS anchors rely on gravity to keep what you put in them locked in place, I recommend you keep your rear seat in the closed position while driving. This way, if you manage to roll your Maverick, the bottle and mount are contained under the seat. (You should probably keep the seat in the down position while driving if you store anything under it, for the same reason.)

This mount leaves about 2" of space underneath, in case you want to store other things in the same compartment.

Please note that the large truss parts of this design require a build plate that is at least 245mm x 245mm. This is not printable on a standard Core One.

For raw materials, you will need:

- Filament of your choice. It will require about 750g, depending on filament density and print settings.

- (2x) 5/16-18 threaded rods, cut to 11.25” long (it is optional to use un-cut 12" pieces, if necessary).

- (1x) 2” wide hook-side “velcro” strip, cut to 11.5” long.

- (1x) 2” wide loop-side “velcro” strip, cut to 11.5” long.

- (2x) 5/16-18 nylock nuts.

- (6x) #6 x ½” long flat head sheet metal screws.

- (2x) 5/16-18 x 1” screws (button head screws are shown in this build guide, but you may alternatively use hex head, socket cap head, etc.).

- (2x) Washers for 5/16 screws (I prefer SAE-style washers, but other standard washer types will work).

- (4x) 5/16-18 acorn or cap-style hex nuts (for a less-finished appearance, you may alternatively use standard nuts here).

Optional:

- Blue Loctite or equivalent semi-permanent threadlocker (recommended for all assemblies).

- ½” wide double sided foam tape, such as 3M VHB ( only used for extinguishers with a nozzle hose ).
