Printing Instructions

A ready-to-print Bambu Studio 3MF file is included with all recommended settings already configured. Just open the file, choose your filament, and print.

- Print with 3 perimeters (walls) and use the Lightning infill pattern.

- Place the seam at the back for a cleaner finish on the visible surfaces.

- No supports, assembly, or glue required.

The models shown in the photos were printed with only 2 perimeters and are still very strong. For extra durability, I recommend 3 perimeters , which uses approximately 112 g of filament with Lightning infill.

The Echo Dot Max Chess Pawn Stand was designed to turn the speaker into something far more interesting than another piece of black tech sitting on a shelf. Inspired by the classic silhouette of a chess pawn, the stand gives the Echo Dot Max a strong decorative identity while keeping the device fully practical for everyday use.

This is not simply an enlarged version of my original stand for the standard Echo Dot. The proportions were redesigned specifically for the Echo Dot Max , taking into account its different size, shape, weight, and acoustic layout. The base, neck, upper support, and overall silhouette were adjusted independently rather than scaled uniformly, so the final piece keeps the visual balance of a real chess pawn instead of looking stretched or oversized.

A major part of the redesign was making sure the speaker could still perform properly. The Echo Dot Max needs clear space around its sound output, so the support geometry was shaped to avoid blocking or reflecting sound in a way that could interfere with normal audio performance. The upper cradle supports the device securely while leaving the speaker area open and unobstructed.

The rear section also includes a dedicated cable path, allowing the power cable to exit naturally without being pinched, sharply bent, or forced against the stand. This keeps the setup cleaner and makes the stand practical for permanent use on a desk, shelf, nightstand, living room cabinet, or office setup.

The model prints as a single piece and requires no supports, assembly, screws, or glue. Its curved transitions and wide base give it a solid appearance while keeping the print straightforward and reliable. Printed in black, it creates a bold chess-piece look; in white, it becomes a much softer and more minimalist decorative object. Other colors can completely change the character of the design, making it easy to match different interiors and desk setups.
