XFX AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT Thicc III Silent Fan Bracket

My XFX AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT was reaching high temperatures while making a lot of noise. To improve both, I designed this fan mounting bracket and because overkill is highly underrated (and I had the Noctua fan lying around) I tried to get as much airflow through the original heatsink as possible. Compared to the original fans, this solution is way quieter even at 100% fan speed. The bracket is split into two parts so they can be printed on small printbeds as well. The fans are mounted with normal case fan screws which come along with any fan you buy. Two of them also hold the two parts of the bracket together.

I used the following fans:

- 120mm Arctic Cooling P12 PWM - Noctua NF-A15 PWM I still had an adapter from the small fan header of the GPU to the fan case plug lying around. If you want to have the fans controlled by your GPU (which I would recommend) you will need to buy one or crimp one yourself. Also make sure the fans don't use too much power or they could fry the fan controller of the GPU! Make sure to get PWM controlled fans (4 pin plug).

I printed all parts with PETG, which so far didn't have problems with the heat. I would not recommend using PLA because it probably will deform.

Since the XFX Thicc III cooler only has screw holes on the outer ends and none in the middle, I included a small clip to prevent the middle of the bracket sagging from the weight of the fans.

For mounting the bracket to the cooler you need 4 M2 screws (ideally 4 mm long) and 4 M2 nuts. I carefully squeezed the nuts in place with pliers - they are a pretty tight fit.

All parts can be printed without supports.
