«Foot Fixing STL Models: Replacement Feet and Caps»

Screw-fixing plinth feet for cabinets and shelving usually consist of a top plate and a shaft, and they differ in shaft height and in how the top is fastened. Foot caps for aluminium profile frames are shaped to a particular profile size and are pushed or screwed onto the end of the extrusion. Replacement feet for printers and small appliances follow the base of one machine, so the hole pattern and the contact surface matter more than the outline.

Do these feet need supports?
It depends on the overhangs in the file. Many are printed flat with the mounting plate on the bed, which avoids supports altogether. Check the author's notes and step through the layers in the slicer preview before starting.
What should I look at for a foot that carries weight?
See which material and settings the author lists, and how thick the walls of the part are. A foot under load is usually printed with more perimeters and a denser infill. The model page often states the intended use and the load direction.
Can I scale a foot model to fit my furniture?
Small adjustments are often enough if only the height is wrong. Scaling also changes screw holes, slots and snap fits, so a large change may stop the part from mounting correctly. Compare the measured values with the dimensions on the page first.
