The models fall into a few groups. Grills and covers sit on the outside of a fan and are mostly about appearance and finger protection, while filter holders add a mesh layer that has to be removable for cleaning. Ducts and adapters change the shape or the diameter of the airflow path, often stepping between a square fan frame and a round pipe.
