The files fall into a few groups. Closed boxes wrap the board completely and often add cutouts for sockets, switches or a fan; open holders and sleds leave the board visible and simply carry it; knobs and small covers replace or protect the controls. Some designs are single parts, others are split into a base and a lid that join with screws or clips.

Before printing, compare the board outline and mounting hole spacing with the dimensions the author gives, and check where the connectors and the volume knob end up once the board is seated. Look at the wall thickness, screw bosses and lid clearance, and note whether the author used supports or printed the part in a particular orientation.
